Congrats to the girls and coaches of our 10U team for being named bracket co-champs at the recently competed Witches Halloween Havoc tourney in Deptford, NJ After a slow start in pool play, the girls turned it on when it counted by winning 2 straight games including wins over the Pennsbury Gems and Xpress Elite. 1oU is a new addition to the organization this season and clearly one that will pay great dividends down the road. Congrats !!! |

Special thanks to two of the sports’ all-time great players in Alex Powers and Sierra Romero, who recently spent a weekend working with our girls and giving them a small insight as to what it takes to be a top flight player. Alex and Sierra stressed the basic fundamentals and proper techniques of fielding, hitting, and game knowledge. They are firm believers that there is not always one way to hit and field, however there are some consistent concepts that people at all levels practice. They challenged the girls to get them thinking and playing outside of their typical comfort zones while maintaining the fun aspect of the sport.
Alex and Sierra are teammates playing in the NPF as members of the USSSA Pride. Their career accolades include multiple all-conference and all-american selections while playing for their respective schools (Florida State and Michigan). Thanks again to them from all of us at Delco Diamonds. |
